HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Yewa North Local Government, formerly Egbado North Local Government, has its Headquarters in Ayetoro. It came into existence via Local Government Edict No.9 of 1976.
BOUNDARIES
The Local Government shares its boundaries with other sister Local Governments and a sister nation as follows:

North - Imeko\Afon Local Government

South - Yewa South Local Government

West - The Republic of Benin.

East - Partly by Abeokuta North and Ewekoro Local Governments respectively.
POPULATION/LANDMASS
Population: According to the National population Commission (1991 census), Yewa North Local Government has a population of about 140,848.
Land Mass: Among the twenty Local Governments in Ogun state, it has the largest expanse of land with a size of 200,213.5 hectares
PEOPLE
The inhabitants are mainly yoruba, speaking various dialects. They comprises of the yewa and the ketus.
ECONOMIC/INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Climate: The Local Government is essentially a semi-savannal vegetaion area endowed with conducive climatic conditons for agricultural pursuits throughout the year. Its tropical nature is also an added advantage for Agriculture.
Occupation: Their major occupation is farming, consequent upon the large expanse of fertile land with a large deposite of mineral resources for indurstrial potentials
